Williams Lake Save-on-Foods employees raise funds for B.C. Children's Hospital

Save-On-Foods in Williams Lake is hosting a garage sale this Sunday, Sept. 1 to raise funds for B.C. Children’s Hospital.

Employees at Save-On-Foods in Williams Lake are hosting a garage sale this Sunday, Sept. 1 to raise funds for B.C. Children’s Hospital, says employee Paula Roy.

There will be no prices put on the garage sale items that will be donated by employees and on display outside the store, so the employees are hoping people will be generous with their purchase prices.

The Save-On employees in 100 Mile House are also holding a fundraising event of their own for Children’s Hospital and the Williams Lake employees are challenging them to see who can raise the most money for the children’s hospital, Roy says.

For every $100 each team (W.L./100 Mile) raises at their respective fundraiser, that team will be given a free home run during a store-on-store fun-ball game that will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15 at a Save-On-Foods   slow-pitch challenge  Esler fields in Williams Lake.

A hotdog fundraiser for Children’s Hospital will also be held at that event.

“It’s going to be fun,” Roy says.
