Students and job-seekers of all ages were filling Rink 2 for a look at job opportunities and more on day one of the Williams Lake Job Fair.

The Williams Lake Job Fair organized by Supporting Aboriginal Growth and Empowerment (S.A.G.E.) Trainers features 54 exhibitors with booths to talk training, education and career opportunities.

Yvonne Funk of S.A.G.E. Trainers said the event was unbelievable so far in the response and turnout.

Funk said while they used to have the event in October, it was shifted to the spring to connect with students finishing school and recent graduates. She said the schools from across the region were invited and support for travel was available.

The event has also outgrown the Gibraltar Room and this year there was live music, and a master of ceremonies to help keep things rolling.

There were plenty of door prizes, with the grand prize being a $500 Visa gift card for those who attended and filled out their entry and information form.

The event will continue on May 9 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
