Several events are scheduled to celebrate Waste Reduction Week Oct. 19 to 25.
All week Monday, Oct. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 25: “I Got it at the Share Shed!” selfie showcase. Find out where to post via facebook.com/CCCSociety or the website under Waste Wise.
Monday, Oct. 19: visit Mary Forbes, the city Waste Wise instructor, at the Share Shed on Frizzi Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or at Canadian Tire from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to donate your old bike for repairs.
Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m.: tour of Central Cariboo Disposal’s recycling bailer.
Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.: compost coaching, and how to set up your own backyard compost system, at the Potato House on Borland and First Ave.
Friday, Oct. 23 from 4 to 9 p.m.: attend the Waste Wise Clothing Swap and Film Fest, at the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Centre. Bring your gently used clothes, shoes, and accessories, and trade for someone else’s.
