With horse-drawn wagon rides, fun games for children and lots of farm produce to see the 41st annual Horsefly Fall Fair is a great way to explore the Cariboo on a day trip.
The Fair is coming up this Saturday, Aug. 20 from noon to 4 p.m.
The theme this year is Make and Grow in Horsefly.
Some of the fun events for children and families include horse drawn wagon rides, Chicken Poop Bingo, and a candy toss in which children scramble through a haystack looking for hidden candy.
The build a scarecrow event is always lots of fun, and there is a prize for the most innovative scarecrow.
There will be more animals this year including some miniatures.
Vegetables, fruit, flowers, baking, preserves, needlework, woodworking, arts, crafts, writing, homemade beer and wine, livestock and more exhibits entered by children and adults will be on display.
The Arts on the Fly group will be providing live music and the WI will be set up with a story board and cake to celebrate their 70th year in Horsefly.
The local seniors group will also have a concession with hamburgers, hot dogs and fresh corn.
The Soul Food booth will be open and there will be cotton candy available.
The Horsefly Farmer’s Market will also be open.
