Volunteers needed for Canada Day celebrations

The planning for Canada Day Celebrations is well underway and the committee is working hard to bring Williams Lake a day filled with fun and laughter, says Canada Day committee co-chair Nancy Giesbrecht.

The planning for Canada Day Celebrations is well underway and the committee is working hard to bring Williams Lake a day filled with fun and laughter, says Canada Day committee co-chair Nancy Giesbrecht.

There will be some familiar faces and the committee is working  hard to bring something new and exciting into the mix.

“The one thing we do need is volunteers for the event,” Giesbrecht says. “We need people to assist with set up/clean up, at the craft table, organize races for the kids, hand out Canada Day flags, etc. If you think you would like to help out give either Karen a call at 250-392-5148 or Nancy at 250-392-5571.

The day includes the return of the ever-popular “Why are you proud to be Canadian” story and poster contest which are brought to the celebrations.

“We look forward to seeing you on July 1 in Boitanio Park from 1 to 4 p.m.  Don’t forget to wear your red and white and leave your blues at home.”
