Canadian Tire owners Brad and Nancy O’Neill were pleased the rain stopped long enough Sunday for the store’s Show ‘n’ Shine to raise money for Jumpstart.

“We didn’t know what to expect for our first one,” Brad said. “We’re new owners to the store and apparently they had one two years ago and then last year, because of the fires, they didn’t.

“I’d say for our first kick at it, and given we had snow this week, I think these people - the people that have these cars tend to treat them better than their kids so they don’t bring them out if they don’t have to.”

Don Urquhart was a participant in the Show ‘n’ Shine and was there displaying his rebuilt Ford and credited Rod Froberg for rebuilding it.

“I did lots of the grunt labour,” Urquhart joked.

Staff and volunteers, meanwhile, were busy serving food to guests taking in the show, all while supporting the Jumpstart cause.
