A monthly Vegetarian Supper Club is starting in the lakecity, on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m., says Cameron Johnston, director of Adventist Health in Williams lake.

Events will be held at the Cariboo Lifestyle Centre, at 26 Woodland Rd.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a vegetarian meal, make new friends and have fun learning positive lifestyle skills.

The cost is by donation to help cover some costs.

“It is an open group for anyone from our community who is interested in healthy eating,” says Cameron Johnston. “Anyone is welcome who would like to taste some delicious natural food, exchange and explore new recipes, see some actual food demonstrations and hear a health lecture.”

More information is online at www.silverhillsontheroad.com/supperclub.

“There is a growing interest in natural, whole foods nutrition and this monthly event is a great way for individuals and families to taste and explore a variety of new foods in a pleasant and un-threatening environment,” Johnston says.

“The plan is simple. Bring a dish for a potluck supper (ideas on the website), your own table service and copies of your recipe to share with all participants. Enjoy the food, fellowship and learning from each other.”

Sue Wolfe, one of the primary organizers of the 100 Mile House vegetarian supper club, adds: “We had a lady who has been a vegetarian for more than  80 years. She is now age 93, and a man who for all of his life of 77 years has never eaten meat.”

Everyone can enjoy this fun learning experience whether you have only a beginning interest in eating natural whole foods or have been pursuing this kind of diet for a while.

The health lecture this month is Stress and Nutrition.

This monthly supper club is sponsored by Adventist Health and VOAR Radio.

Cost is by donation.

Registration is required.
