Lots of events to take in this spring

April 11

Dirt Relations Film premiere at the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Centre. Doors at 6:30 p.m., show at 7 p.m. at 90 fourth Avenue N. The local premiere of the documentary Dirt Relations, the story of the Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program. Featuring Williams Lake’s own trailbuilder Tom Schoen. Two short films will be screened along with the main feature, The Trails Before Us, featuring a Diné mountain biker Nigel James and episode 4 of Here, There, Everywhere @dvrgntm inds. Episode 4 takes place in Ucluelet on Vancouver Island, visiting the Yuulu?il?an Nation.

Community Responders BBQ. Williams Lake Community Action Team and the Canadian Mental Health Association are hosting a community barbecue in Boitanio Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include community agency booths and support resources with hot dogs and free drinks.

April 13

A Night in the Tropics

Williams Lake Daybreak Rotary fundraising dinner for their Starfish Backpack Program. Dinner and auctions at the Chances Signal Point Pioneer Room. Doors at 6 p.m., tickets are $75 at Sandtronic, 19+ years only.

April 18, 19

87th Williams Lake Bull Sale and Show

The show will get underway Thursday, April 18 at 1 p.m. The sale will get underway Friday, April 19 at 1 p.m. The event will feature approximately 40 Hereford, Angus and Gelbvieh bulls from across B.C.

April 19, 20, 21

The 2nd annual Indoor Spring Classic Rodeo in Williams Lake is set to take place April 19, 20 and 21. The three-day rodeo will see a rodeo on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Saturday and Sunday starting at 1 p.m. each day. There will also be a barn dance Saturday night. Tickets available online.

McLeese Lake Seedy Saturday at the McLeese Lake Library takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20.

Annual Spring Clothing & Garage Sale

In the lower level of the Seniors Activity Centre at 176 North Fourth Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. come and find gently used men’s and lady’s clothing along with many other garage sale items.

Scout Island Nature Centre. Annual yard and plant sale fundraiser event.

Sale runs 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come and shop for plants, books, sports equipment, and other assorted treasures.

May 4 & 5

Cariboo Chilcotin Youth Fiddle Society show A Fiddle Ticket to Canada at the Gibraltar Room May 4 at 7 p.m. and May 5 at 3 p.m., tickets are $25 for adults, $18 for youth and available at The Open Book and on Eventbrite.

May 11

The Horsefly 10km Fun Run takes place Saturday, May 11. Entry forms can be picked up and dropped off at Clarkes General Store in Horsefly and Remax in Williams Lake. Entries received before April 15 will included a T-shirt and your name put towards a prize draw. Registration on the day of the run is at 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Horsefly School rink, run starts at 11 a.m. from the Moffat Falls and will continue down the 108 Mile Road to the Horsefly rink.
