The annual Ten Thousand Villages sale is coming up at the Cariboo Bethel Church banquet hall on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 3 to 8 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 18 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers were busy setting up on Monday afternoon, unpacking hundreds of boxes.

The event features fair trade crafts from more than 35 countries including musical instruments, pottery, toys, jewellery, baskets, nativity scenes, linens, hand loomed textiles, tea, coffee, dried fruit, chocolate, spices and more.

There are even boxes with lids that have been decorated with computer keyboard keys.

“I have to read up on those,” volunteer Adina Toews said as she lifted one of the boxes.

The event also includes a cafe serving Mennonite sausage sandwiches, soup and refreshments.
