Tele-workshop on dementia and driving coming up

Are you concerned about a family member’s driving abilities?

Are you concerned about a family member’s driving abilities?

For caregivers of a person with dementia, it’s a serious concern. Fortunately, Williams Lake families can turn to the non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C. for assistance.

The society presents a free tele-workshop, Driving and Dementia, on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.

Family caregivers will explore some of the issues surrounding driving cessation, including how to identify when driving is no longer safe and how to approach discussions on the subject.

The workshop also suggests alternative methods of transportation and offers strategies to prevent the use of the car if necessary.

Pre-registration is required by Sept. 19. Visit www.alzheimerbc.org or phone toll-free 1-866-396-2433 to register.
