Still spaces left on Heart and Stroke Big Bike rides taking place today

There is still room on the Heart and Stroke's Big Bike rides taking place in the city today. Each bike holds 29 riders plus the driver.

There is still room on the bikes for people who would like to take a spin around the city on the Heart and Stroke's Big Bike rides taking place in the city today.

Event organizer Elaine Balul says there are rides scheduled for 2:30 p.m. 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. from the front of the Cariboo Memorial Complex.

People interested in joining any of these rides should be at the complex at least 15 minutes ahead of time. She invites people to come down and join one of the rides or if they like, just make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A donation booth will be set up at the complex from 2 p.m. on until after the last ride is finished.

Each ride on the Big Bike, which holds 29 people plus the driver, involves a half-hour tour around the city streets. Balul will be riding with the Beat Goes on group on the 5 p.m. ride.

Balul has been organizing the Big Bike ride fundraiser for the past 10 years but says that since she is retiring, this will likely be her last year for organizing the annual event.
