Organizers are busy preparing for the highly anticipated 2017 Williams Lake Stampede Dinner, Dance and Auction.

The annual event, set to take place Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Elks Hall, will feature live and silent auctions, the fun loonie toss as well as a dinner and a dance.

“It’s really a fun evening, and it’s our unofficial kick off to the Stampede season,” said Williams Lake Stampede President Tim Rolph.

“It’s become an important social event, too. So many people look forward to it.”

Other than the rodeos themselves, Rolph said the dinner and dance is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Stampede and is greatly supported by local residents and businesses.

So far, live auction items include a flight for two to Vancouver, four tickets and VIP passes to a BC Lions game and jewelry.

Rolph said he is very pleased that Retirement Concepts has once again come on as a presenting sponsor along with Woodland Jewellers and Pacific Coastal Airlines.

Guests will dance to the popular local country/southern rock band, One in the Chamber, beginning at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $40 per person or $300 for a table of eight and are available at Margetts Meats and the Tourism Discovery Centre.

“It’s always a sell-out. Tickets are going fast.”
