The 2016 Dry Grad Parade was definitely a soaker Saturday night in Williams Lake but that didn't stop hundreds of well wishers from lining the streets and celebrating the achievement with this year's graduating class.

The parade followed what was a special and an emotional graduation ceremony earlier in the day at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex, where graduates were celebrated for their high school careers.

In addition, Robin Storoschuk said it was with mixed emotions that he present the first ever Laura Kaufman Storoschuk Memorial scholarship at the 2016 Grad ceremonies in Williams Lake Saturday.

He said the two recipients chosen to receive the new memorial scholarship had to possess school leadership, spirit and strong academics. It was awarded to Chloe Storoschuk and Jasmine Tio during a standing ovation.
