The public is warmly invited to attend the 2016 Street Party on Saturday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. following the Williams Lake Stampede Parade.

Williams Lake Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA) office and events coordinator Kate Lines says that the Street Party is shaping up to be a wonderful day downtown.

“The community can relax and play on Second Avenue between Oliver Street and and Yorston Avenue,” Lines explains.

“Second Avenue will be closed to traffic and open for fun!” she explains.

In the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot the Puddle Pounders will be running roller skating activities with kids alongside midway games with prizes to be won.

Across the street and beside BMO there is a stage featuring live music and hoop dancing.

Walk a little further south on Second Avenue and you’ll find a street vendor bazaar-styled flea market set up in the parking lot at Second and Yorston.”

She added that local merchants are invited to spill out onto the street to sell their wares and visiting street vendors will be sprinkled along Second Avenue for the delight of the crowd.

The WLCBIA thanks director Sarah Hutchins of Cannuck Properties, for planning Street Party this year, Lines said.
