With mild temperatures and both the sun and the moon shining in the beautiful blue sky many people were drawn to Scout Island Nature Centre for walks, skating, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and other outdoor sports on Saturday, Jan. 7.
Since it hasn't thawed this winter the trails are all covered in lightly packed snow and in good condition for walking.
Even the trails with boardwalks are fine for walking these days.
In other years a flash warm spell has made the trails too icy for many people to bother hiking.
