Rotary dinner/dance Saturday

The Daybreak Rotary’s A-Pork-Alypse harvest pig roast and dance fundraiser is coming up this Saturday, Sept. 19.

The Daybreak Rotary’s A-Pork-Alypse harvest pig roast and dance fundraiser is coming up this Saturday, Sept. 19 from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Let R Buck Saloon behind the Stampede Grandstand.

Daybreak Rotary is raising funds for Rotary International, efforts to end polio around the world and for local projects.

Tickets are $50 each and available at the Tribune, Sandtronic and by calling Lori Macala at 250-305-8559. This is an outdoor event so dress accordingly, advise organizers.

A Gems and Jeans Barn Dance will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 to raise funds for children fighting cancer. Boot Scootin’ Dancing starts at 8 p.m. There will be prizes, bucket draws and a silent auction. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at Canadian Tire, Williams Lake Cancer Society Office, and at the Dream Boat Cafe at TRU.

The annual Salmon Festival in Horsefly is coming up on Sept. 26/27 on the shores of the Horsefly River.

The event is a celebration of  BC River’s Day and the return of the Sockeye Salmon to the Horsefly River spawning grounds.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free.

There will be arts and crafts to do along with fish dissections and demonstrations, vendors, and live music (Saturday evening only).

The event is hosted by the Horsefly River Roundtable.
