The Rose Lake/Miocene 4-H Club had their second meeting of the year on Feb. 8.

We have lots of new members this year which is always exciting.

We have nine different projects which are Honey Bees, Beef, Swine, Poultry, Photography, Sheep, Horse and nine members in Cloverbuds.

The club has 45 members registered for 2017.

Our Speech Day is Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Miocene community hall starting at 9 a.m.

Every 4-H member has to do public speaking, so we like to get it done right away.

Speeches will continue throughout the day, so if you would like to come and watch, drop in at the hall and you will be amazed.

The district beef weigh in for all clubs takes place at the Williams Lake Stockyards on Feb. 26 starting at 1 p.m.

The weigh-in is also fun to watch if anyone is interested.

We will all be bringing our new beef projects in to be weighed to start the year.

It will be the first trip to town for most of our projects.

The Rose Lake-Miocene Club will celebrate its 50th birthday this summer.

We have been running for 50 years and Canada is also celebrating its 150th birthday so we hope to do some fun things to celebrate all the birthdays.
