A sold-out night of costumes and characters organized by the Williams Lake Film Club brought benefits for the local Pride group.
Rocky Horror Picture Show, a cult classic film, which has sparked annual events all over since it came out in 1975, was screened at the Paradise Cinemas on Oct. 17. The event raised $595.44 for the Williams Lake Pride Society.
The film club partnered with the Williams Lake Pride Society to make the night a sold-out success. There were amazing prizes to be won for costumes and a large part of the audience got on board, making it hard for the judges to pick a favourite.
But choose they did, with Marcell Phung winning the best costume prize.
Rhonda Hughe as Columbia, Clara Veenkamp as a groupie, and Tricia Hughes as Magenta, all also won costume prizes.
A night out at the Wells Hotel was first prize, alongside some other prizes by Fox Mountain Brewing, Red Tomato Pies, and The Open Book. The event was also supported by the Paradise Cinemas and the Guitar Sellar.
