Looking out my kitchen window on March 8, I saw a big, fat robin perched in my mountain ash tree.
Was he possibly blown off course during that fierce wind storm we experienced that day?
It’s hard to believe that spring is officially here, when the ground is still covered with snow and the lake is frozen over.
The OAPO Branch 93 Shamrock luncheon and bake sale was a huge success on March 15.
A big thank-you to all the members who organized and worked that day and to everyone for attending the lunch and buying raffle tickets. Your support is greatly appreciated.
A reminder that on April 14 and 15 the OAPO members will be having their annual spring good used clothing sale, downstairs in the Senior’s Activity Centre.
If you have clothes to donate please drop them off before the date at the centre.
For pick up call Marlene at 250-398-8025.
There will be a fundraiser roast pork dinner at the centre on Sunday, April 15 at 5 p.m. to support seniors travelling to the Seniors’ Summer Games held in Burnaby on Aug. 21 to 25.
This year they are celebrating their 25th anniversary so they are anticipating a large turnout.
The seniors’ pot-luck supper will be held on Friday, March 30 at 5:30 p.m.
Bring your favourite casserole dinner or a salad or dessert to share and get to know someone new there.
The OAPO Branch 93 meeting is held on the second Thursday of the month on April 12 at 2 p.m.
All seniors are welcome to attend so come and bring a friend. Coffee, tea and goodies are served after the meeting.
Hope to see you there.
