Scout Island Nature Centre is inviting the public to celebrate B.C.’s 31st annual Rivers Day this Sunday with a guided walk down the Williams Lake River Trail.

Scout Island Nature Centre is inviting the public to celebrate B.C.’s 31st annual Rivers Day this Sunday with a guided walk down the Williams Lake River Trail.

Mary Forbes will lead the free tour and talk about the returning salmon and point out features of the aquatic environment.

The Rivers Day event is this Sunday, Sept. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m.  Take Frizzi Road to the lowest parking lot.  All ages are welcome. Bring water and good walking shoes.

Since 2005, Sept. 25 has also been World Rivers Day with hundreds of events globally helping people learn about, appreciate and protect the lifeblood of our planet, says nature centre co-ordinator Jenny Noble.
