Potato House to get summer staff

The Potato House Sustainable Community Society, locally known as the Potato House Project, is proud to partner with Williams Lake Employment Centre, says society spokesperson Mary Forbes.

The Potato House Sustainable Community Society, locally known as the Potato House Project, is proud to partner with Williams Lake Employment Centre, says society spokesperson Mary Forbes.

“We will be hosting eight new staff on the Potato House site from Tuesday to Friday 7 a.m. to 12 noon between July 19 and Aug. 12,” Forbes says.

The staff will help the society with planting, weeding, scraping the building for painting and general fixing up the Centre of Sustainability, Forbes says.

Forbes says the society is looking for community members and businesses to share their skills with the staff in the areas of gardening, renovation, fence repair or any topic to ensure these eight members of our community graduate from the Potato House as well informed and networked to the community as possible.
