Poster contest promotes world harmony

A poster contest for students with a deadline coming up Friday promotes harmony in the world.

A poster contest is being organized in Williams Lake to encourage students to think about the meaning of multiculturalism and anti-racism. The contest is being organized by the Cariboo-Chilcotin Canadian Mental Health Association. The deadline is April 20.

Participants must be attending school and the poster must have some multiculturalism and/or anti-racism content, say Marilyn Livingston and Tom Salley, CMHA’s event co-ordinators.

The student’s full name, age, school and phone number must be on the back of the poster that should be dropped off at the CMHA office located at 51 Fourth Ave. across from Safeway on or before April 20. The posters will be displayed on the walking route for this year’s Walk for Harmony May 8.

This year’s walk will start with some opening remarks in Boitanio Park at 11:30 a.m., then a short 15-minute walk through the downtown area to Spirit Square on Oliver Street for refreshments. For more information contact Livingston or Salley at 250-302-9119.
