Columneetza Outdoor Education Academy Grade 7 student Zeah Rusch examines the natural beauty in the forest around her at Gavin Lake as she and her classmates take a hike with teacher Kim Zalay Wednesday.
The group was on a three-day trip to the Gavin Lake Forest Education Centre where Zalay’s teachings incorporated traditional studies with hands-on learning as part of the new program offered by School District 27.
