More and more these days photographers are discovering the beautiful backdrops available at Scout Island Nature Centre for photographic opportunities.

Saturday Jo-Anna Petrin (left), who graduates from Lake City Secondary School in June, had fun with her sister Allex Petrin, having her picture taken in her prom gown at various locations around the islands.

Allex graduated in 2014 and enjoys photography.

In other locations around the islands this week people were enjoying a picnic, sun bathing, dipping toes in the still cold water, kayaking, walking trails, spotting birds, watching flowers bloom and bees buzz, taking lessons in the outdoor classroom…..

The Williams Lake Field Naturalists will host their annual spring yard and garden sale at the Scout Island Nature Centre Saturday, May 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Expect to find interesting house and garden plants, bird houses, household treasures, as well as sports, outdoor and garden items.

Funds raised by the sale provide a student bursary.
