Music, theatre, Santa, craft fairs part of busy weekend schedule

Don Alder concert tonight is part of a busy weekend of entertainment in the lakecity.

2010 Guitar Superstar winner Don Alder will be in concert at the Gibraltar Room, tonight, Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and available at Audio Video Unlimited and the Station House Gallery. The concert is a benefit for the gallery.

Santa Claus

The annual Santa Claus Parade with festivities to follow in Spirit Square takes place this Friday evening, Nov. 18 starting at 6 p.m. The parade will assemble on Oliver Street in the United Carpet parking lot then proceed along Oliver Street to the square for music, carolling, horse-drawn wagon rides, Santa Claus visits, and the official City light-up for the holiday season at 7 p.m.

Cataline craft fair

The Cataline Christmas Craft Fair takes place in the school gym, with a tea in the school library Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 20 from    11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be raffles and many vendors selling crafts and products including Mike Royal and  Pete Smith with their popular collection of hand-crafted wooden toys.

St. Peter’s

bazaar and tea

The St. Peter’s Anglican Church Christmas Bazaar and Tea takes place in the church basement hall this Saturday, Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be a bake table, crafts, attic treasures and a fancy tea.

Office Hours

The Studio Theatre’s production of Office Hours, directed by the team of Mary-Jo Hilyer and Micheal Hodgson, is a series of one-act plays written by Canadian playwright Norm Foster.

Foster is one of Canada’s most popular playwrights and Office Hours is one of his funniest plays. It is filled with snappy dialogue, witty repartee, hilarious predicaments, and lots of laughs. Office Hours runs Nov. 16 to 19 and next week Nov. 23 to 26, evenings at the Studio Theatre. Tickets are available at About Face Photography.

The Ten Thousand Villages Craft sale featuring fair trade merchandise from more than 30 countries takes place in the Cariboo Bethel Church basement hall today Nov.  18 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
