Museum exhibit features Norwegian settlers

An exhibit opening at the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin this week features the early Norwegian settlers in Bella Coola.

An exhibit opening at the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin this week features the early Norwegian settlers in Bella Coola.

The exhibit, called Nordic Spirit 2011 is featured at the museum Tuesday, Sept. 20 through Friday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

This is a gallery presentation of superb heritage images depicting the life and times of the early Norwegian settlers in Bella Coola presented by the museum and the Scandinavian Cultural Society.

There will be a special evening event in conjunction with the exhibit on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. in the museum on Fourth Ave.

The evening will feature viewing of photos, artifacts, coffee and Norwegian goodies.
