Museum AGM coming up

The Williams Lake Museum and Historical Society will hold its annual general meeting at the museum on Monday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.

The Williams Lake Museum and Historical Society will hold its annual general meeting at the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin on Monday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.

President Sheila Wyse says this will be an important event where reports will be received, financial statements reviewed and a budget set for the coming year.

Elections will also be held.

Wyse says the board has recently lost some valuable members and encourages people to consider serving as director.

Recently she says the museum has formed the Friends of the Museum, a group of volunteers who are willing to help with the ongoing work of caring for the museum’s artifacts.

She also encourages people to join the society as membership fees help with maintaining the displays and recording local history.

The museum’s Cowboy Christmas Concert in the evening and Trade Show during the day at the Gibraltar Room are coming up on Nov. 26.

This year’s entertainment includes Frank Gleeson, Stanley Stump, Rossetta Paxton, Randy Pokeda and Alan Moberg.
