Mountview Elementary School principal Rick Miller helped bring a classic Canadian story to life for the whole school by narrating The Hockey Sweater during a dramatic enactment on the ice rink behind the school on Wednesday.

The Kindergarten class at Mountview Elementary School led the way when the whole school gathered at the ice rink for hot chocolate.

Grade 4 student Bailey Cail played the part of The Rocket.

The dramatic reading of The Hocky Sweater by Roch Carrier helped to celebrate Literacy Week and Reach a Reader Day  activities including the Readers are Leaders program Williams Lake.

Activities for Reach a Reader day Thursday were supported by the Cariboo Chilcotin Partners for Literacy organization which raises funds to support literacy programs in Williams Lake.

On Reach a Reader Day volunteers sell copies of the Tribune and all the funds raised go Cariboo Chilcotin Partners for Literacy for literacy programs.
