The Lions and Lioness clubs are at work these days preparing for their annual Mother’s Day breakfast and market for which table reservations are being taken.

“The Mother’s Day market is a true market with all kinds of items,” Wilf Goerwell says. “There will be everything from garage sale items, to crafts, plants, jewellery and commercial items.”

People who would like to reserve a table for the market are asked to call  250-392-6834.

The Lions/Lioness Mother’s Day breakfast and market takes place in the Save-On-Foods parking lot on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8.

The pancake, bacon, and egg breakfast with juice or coffee is served from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

On this special day, Goerwell says all mothers will receive breakfast free of charge. Others will pay $10 for adults and $5 for children ages five to 12 and free for  children ages four and under.

After or before breakfast, he invites people to stroll over to the adjoining parking lot to check out items in the market that will run from 8:30 a.m. until about 2 p.m.

“The Williams Lake Lions and Lioness clubs are non-profit volunteer service clubs serving our community and proud to host his annual event,” Goerwell says.

“We encourage everyone to drop by for breakfast and enjoy the market.”

He says money raised by the Lions and Lioness clubs helps to support many community causes including help for people with hearing and vision loss, programs and activities for youth and seniors, education, the arts, health, to Christmas hampers.

“The best part is that the money stays locall y and makes Williams Lake a better place to live,” Goerwell says.
