The Marie Sharpe Parent Advisory Council realized a dream this month.

For the past five years the PAC has worked hard to raise the $45,000 it took to install a brand new Big Toy in the Marie Sharpe elementary playground.

Funds were raised through school fundraising, grants and help from numerous local businesses.

Many businesses and organizations helped the playground come to fruition, either by paying for shipping and delivery or supplying materials and equipment, such as a tractor, auger, fencing, plywood, jackhammer, tools, and labour.

Members of the previous Parent Advisory Council executive, all of whom no longer have children attending Marie Sharpe elementary, were on hand to help with the installation, and many devoted Marie Sharpe parents and teachers also worked for many hours over a three-day period to make the play area a reality.
