Gibraltar Mine will be hosting a free barbecue in celebration of Mining Month. Come on down to Save-On-Foods anytime between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a burger or hot dog and some great company!

Lakers Car Club hosts the annual roundup poker run Saturday from noon until 3 p.m., followed by a cruise through the city at 4 p.m. The Show and Shine is Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. on Oliver Street and First Avenue.

Public Works Yard open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. everyone welcome. Equipment rides, photo opportunities, light refreshments, hot dogs, snacks and flower planting.

Williams Lake Fire Department open house 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be hot dogs, smokies, live demonstrations, games and tours.

Spring Festival. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. downtown Williams Lake. Food vendors, card games, volunteer alley and more.

Williams Lake Children’s Festival. Hosted by the Women’s Contact Society, in Boitanio Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Events and activities for children including music, magic show, and bouncy castles.

Royal Purple Society is hosting a Walk, Bike, Run, Wheel fundraising event in Boitanio Park in support of BC Brain Injury at 2:30 p.m. Participate for prizes and goodie bags.

May 28

Student talent show to fundraise for the Model United Nations club at Lake City Secondary School in the commons at the school beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets at The Open Book or at the door.

Sunset DH Series mountain bike event. Come ride in a timed event for fun and the chance to win prizes. Must be a member of the Williams Lake Cycling Club to participate. Register for $5 between 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Tourism Discovery Centre.

Pajama Ram a fun-night fundraiser for library upgrades at Cariboo Adventist Academy, 1405 South Lakeside Drive from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There will be a Scholastic Book Fair, story time and milk and cookies.

June 1

Maranatha Spring Market and Carnival at 1278 Lakeview Crescent from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a bouncy castle, carnival games, concession and vendor market.
