The Cedar City Museum and Info Centre in Likely is looking to install some energy efficient upgrades in the near future.

At its board meeting on Sept. 21, the Cariboo Regional District approved a community works funding grant application for up to $6,000 from the Likely and District Chamber of Commerce for energy efficient works at the Cedar City Museum.

The works will include replacing five heaters in the museum with five thermostatically controlled electric heaters.

The museum is located in Cedar Point Provincial Park and features displays, artifacts and photographs from the Cedar City, Keithley and Quesnel Forks gold rush boom towns and more recent hydraulic mining operations and logging ventures in and around Likely.

Displays are setup in a progressive circular walk starting from 1830 to the present.
