About 80 people have registered to participate in the second local food forum Let’s Talk About Food taking place this Saturday, Jan. 28 in the Thompson Rivers University cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., says community nutritionist Tatjana Bates.
The event is sponsored by the Williams Lake Food Policy Council, the City of Williams Lake, Thompson Rivers University and the Oliver Street Market.
The food policy council’s five-year food action plan is complete and the council will also be seeking input on creating a second food action plan for Williams Lake and area. Everyone is invited.
The local food breakfast and lunch prepared by the Bean Counter are provided by donation. Registration closed Jan. 20 but there is always room for more, Bates says. Contact Michelle Daymond at 250-267-2085.
