LCSS arts and entertainment Friday

The Lake City Secondary School’s second annual Fine Arts Festival (formally Cariboo Meats Culture) takes place Friday, May 27.

The Lake City Secondary School’s second annual Fine Arts Festival (formally Cariboo Meats Culture) takes place Friday, May 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Williams Lake Campus on Carson Drive.

“This is a festival where the LCSS bands will be playing, the drama program will be putting on skits, and there will be many booths to show what kinds of things happen in the arts at our school,” says band teacher Laura Eilers.

Activities will also include face painting, rock painting, henna tattoos, sponge painting, cake walk, and an art walk.

There will also be an open mic and student artists demonstrating their arts and crafts.

Among the fun events is also an instrument petting zoo where people have an opportunity to try out and learn about various musical instruments. There will also be cotton candy, popcorn and a barbecue.

“There is fun for the whole family,” Eilers says. “All proceeds made from this event will go back into the fine arts department for scholarships.”

Events will take place both on the school field and in the school commons theatre.

Tickets are $1 to $10 depending on the both and can be purchase on arrival at the vent, Eiler says.
