A Williams Lake resident is in the running to become a 2018 Inked Magazine covergirl.

Twenty-nine-year-old Kimberley Paige has qualified for the semifinals of the Inked Magazine Covergirl Contest – a publication that features creative tattoo ideas, tattoo artists, photos and stories of tattoo models and news — and, with the competition down to just 15 competitors, Kimberley is looking for online votes.

Kimberley is entered in the International Category, and began among a field of hundreds of entrants.

Kimberley has lived in Williams Lake for the past 14 years and is a mother of two children. She works as a guard at the Williams Lake RCMP detachment and models in her spare time. She also enjoys art and painting.

Should be chosen as the winner, Kimberley will be in the January 2019 cover of Inked Magazine.

“My first tattoo was a set of leopard spots … All of my tattoos relate to inner strength and battles I’ve overcome,” Kimberley said. “I guess you could say I ‘earned my spots.’”

She added if she was voted Inked Magazine’s covergirl and was awarded the $25,000 prize, she’s not sure what she’d do with the money.

“I guess I haven’t given it much thought,” she said. “It’s not about the money for me. I was severely overweight and bullied most of my life — I used to wish I could be like these girls. Now I’m competing against them … Being named Inked Cover Girl would be an absolute dream — something I never thought I’d be able to achieve. Keep believing in yourself. Anything is possible.”
