June starts busy season in Williams Lake

Party in the Park

June 12 6-8 p.m. at Boitanio Park's Gwen Ringwood Stage. Community-wide invite from Cariboo Chilcotin Partners for Literacy to come enjoy cake and live music in the park. Bring water and a lawn chair or blanket.

Father's Day Traditional Pow Wow

From June 13 to 15, Williams Lake First Nation will be hosting the a pow wow with over 40 vendors, pageants, free tent campin, There will be grand entries Frday, June 13 at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 14 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 15 at 1 p.m.  Admission is free everyone welcome at the Chief William Pow Wow Arbor. 

WL Forestry/Napa Thunder Mountain Speedway season opener 

Racing will take place Friday, June 13 at the WL Forestry/Napa Thunder Mountain Speedway. Qualifying begins at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. while the pit gates will open at noon and the spectator gates at 3 p.m. 

Westsyde Boogie Trail Race

Saturday, June 14 exploring the Westsyde Trail Network. The 15km race starts at 9 a.m., the 5 km starts at 10 a.m. for competitors 13 years and older. There will also be a 3 km walk/run starting at 10:15 a.m. for all ages. More information at Caribooruncrew.com. 

Giant Used Book Sale

June 14, 15 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Daybreak Rotary Club of Williams Lake organizes the massive used book sale located in the back alley entrance behind Home Hardware. Donation bins for used books in good condition are located at FreshCo, Save On Foods, and 150 Mile Centre.
