The 2013 Horsefly Fall Fair reflected the great growing weather we have had this year.

There were absolutely gorgeous cabbages, tomatoes, beets, cauliflower, peas, beans, squash; in fact it was the best show of vegetables in years.

Sharon Godfrey took high aggregate honours, while Robi Campbell took second prize honours as well as the Sharon Thomas Memorial award for best flower arrangement.

Preserves, baking and canning items were down this year as some of the heavy hitters of past years did not take part.

John Hollan was awarded the 2013 Horsefly Citizen of the Year award, and was a well deserved recipient as he has and is involved in pretty well every volunteer job in our community.

Congratulations John!

As well, all the usual suspects were in the livestock section, exotic chickens, rabbits, goats, horses, ducks, ponies, and the like were present and accounted for.

The weather co-operated, the hamburgers were fantastic, and the crowd was well behaved.

All in all, it was another great event.

Congratulations and thanks to the Fall Fair Committee for a job well done.
