The Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society in Williams Lake is hosting a tea and information session for women this Thursday, Jan. 13 from 2-4 p.m.

The tea takes place in the little school house behind ESP Consulting at 279 North Third Ave.

Susan Nelson, who teaches the English Language Services for Adults program, will be among the resource people available to answer questions and provide information about ELSA and other services for women available in Williams Lake.

The ELSA program provides basic and intermediate level English training for adult newcomers to Canada.

The program is government funded and is free to students.

Students learn English to help with their communication needs as well as about Canadian laws, health care, society, job market, and many things that are important for life in Canada.

Eligible students include newcomers to Canada who are age 17 or older and are a permanent resident, naturalized Canadian citizen, refugee claimants or live-in care giver.
