Members of the Horsefly 4-H Beef Club attended and competed in the Okanagan Stock Show July 6-8.
Alexa Augustine, Joey Augustine, Anna Best and Riata Seelhof brought four steers and two heifers to the show in Armstrong B.C.
They competed with 4-H members from the Okanagan area.
Our girls were “small but mighty” and performed very well with their 4-H projects.
All four girls made it to final round in Junior Beef Showmanship, and Alexa Augustine won Grand Champion Junior Beef Showman.
Anna Best placed fourth in Intermediate Beef Showman.
Riata Seelhof placed fourth in her beef weight class.
Joey Augustine placed second in her beef weight class and made it through to the championship round for the best steer in the barn.
The 4-Hers also participated in grooming and fitting classes, and showmanship classes where they learned lots of good techniques in cattle handling and showing.
Beef leader Bobbi-Jo Best arranged the trip and the Augustine and Seelhof families attended to lend a hand.
