Children and adults alike joined the fun of trying out giant hula hoops at the Concrete Fitness Performance in the Park on Aug. 18 in Boitanio Park. Ros Giles and Ellen Paynton brought dozens of the oversized hoops to Boitanio Park for people to try. Paynton will also teach a hoop dancing exercise program this fall as part of the city’s recreation program offerings. It was one of the few sunny days where the concerts have been held outside. For most of the concerts this summer, rain forced participants inside to the Gibraltar Room. Despite the rain there was a good turnout for the concert series, which wound up last night with performances by Rossetta and Friends and the Cariboo Gold Dance Band.
