Williams Lake Hospice Society members and Hike for Hospice supporters and organizers Dorothy Stubitsch (from left), Theresa Teppema, Chiara Crowther, Daphne Johnson and Sue Zacharias greet walkers Sunday for the annual fundraiser at Scout Island Nature Centre.
May is Hospice Month and, in recognition, the WLHS has hosted the event where participants can “Run, walk, stroll or roll with us ‘In Memory’ or ‘In Honour’ of your loved one.”

Daphne Johnson, executive director with the WLHS, said the event was a great success, and thanked the Boys and Girls Club of Williams Lake and District for attending to sell cotton candy and face painting.
“The event is all about community awareness, fundraising and inclusion,” Johnson said.
The Hike for Hospice is observed Canada-wide by the Canadian Hospice Association.
In Williams Lake, this year’s hike was the third annual.
