If you wanted to have your blood pressure tested, blood sugar level measured, have an HIV test or learn all about healthy lifestyles, the place to be Monday was at TRU.

Third year Registered Nursing students who started their training at TRU in Williams Lake and are finishing their degrees at the Kamloops campus came back home to host a community health fair at the Williams Lake and District Credit Union Community Health Centre located at the Williams Lake TRU campus.

There was a steady stream of visitors all day as third year students Crystal Bremner, Stacey Renyard, Kelly-Anne O’Neill, Meresa Wejr, and Cherise Beaman, shared their knowledge with the community and the first and second year students in the nursing program at the TRU campus.

They also had information on the role of the Nurse Practitioner and the TRU health clinic in the community, and lots of handouts on diabetes awareness; hypertension awareness; child obesity; and adult and family nutrition and exercise.

Many people also took avantage of the opportunity for HIV testing offered during the fair.
