Excitement, anticipation, and gratitude for the opportunity.

Those were some of the words students  from the Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training Employment Centre’s administrative office assistant program described the course as they celebrated their graduation at Thompson Rivers University last week.

“I was unemployed and this program gave me an opportunity to receive some training,” said Darleen Cahoose.

“I’ve seen a whole different me.”

For Shirley William going back to school was a challenge, but  one she enjoyed.

Sadie Cahoose pegged learning about First Nations Governance as the highlight, while Janice Mitchell said her work experience with Williams Lake Indian Band was rewarding.

Juanita Keener said she’s looking forward to new career opportunities, Holly Billy found the course taught her some new administrative skills.
