Fun in the Snow is the theme for the Young Naturalists club’s next free event for families with kids aged four to 12.
Bring your favourite slidey-toy and wear your snow pants because you’ll need them for the wintry play, says Scout Island program co-ordinator Jenny Noble.
“Bring your brain too, as we’ll hear about the amazing properties of snow. “
Meet Saturday, Jan. 29, from noon to 2 p.m. at Scout Island Nature House.
Call Scout Island Nature House to register for this special event 250-398-8532 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Williams Lake Cross Country Ski club hosts the Bull Mountain Blast on Sunday, Jan. 30.
This is a fun, participation-oriented cross-country ski event for all ages and levels of skiers.
For more information visit the club’s website at www.bull mountain.ca and look under the ski competitions and events heading.
Bring a non-perishable food item to the Cariboo Memorial Complex and participate in a free family skate from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. Food items will go to the local food bank.
139 Auction help
People who would like to help out with the auction for the 139 Children’s Fundraising Society coming up at the legion on Saturday, Feb. 5 are asked to call Sharleen MacMurchy at 250-398-6222.
139 chair Greg Ashley inadvertently gave the prefix 392 in an earlier story about the event, and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the person whose number begins with the 392 prefix.
On the bright side he says the individual has been receiving calls with offers to help with the auction event.
