There's always room for new members at the Friends of the Williams Lake Library.

During a recent Williams Lake Farmers' Market, Susan Graves was hosting an information table about the group and said they meet next on Thursday, Sept. 26 at the library, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

At the meeting they will discuss autumn events and ways to support the library.

Graves shared some information about the group's fundraising efforts which have amounted lately to $10,000 for new furnishing.

The group has also provided funds to the library for Lego sets, iPad screen savers, stamps for children, Play Station Plus memberships, stamps for the children's programs and puppets.

Graves said the group is also helping the library build a collection of items such as snowshoes, a bird watching kit and a star gazing kit.

"It's called a library of things," she said.

Friends of the Library does not hold weekly or monthly meetings, but only meets when they need to choose or organize events.
