Its all about developing security by promoting new small business, community self-sufficiency, and a more localized economy, says films host David Brancaccio of PBS in the film Fixing the Future.

In the film Brancaccio visits people and organizations across the U.S. who are attempting to reinvent the U.S. economy.

In a search for economic solutions not based on Wall Street, Brancaccio visits communities that are using innovative approaches to create jobs and build prosperity.

The film highlights effective, local practices such as: local business alliances, community banking, time banking/hour exchange, worker cooperatives, and local currencies.

Brancaccio also talks to Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz, economists David Korten and economist Jane D’Arista, to explore the new pathways being charted by economic reformers.
