Fair unites aboriginal students with local businesses

The inaugural First Nations Youth Opportunity Fair takes place today, June 7, at Thompson Rivers University’s Williams Lake campus.

The inaugural First Nations Youth Opportunity Fair takes place today, June 7, at Thompson Rivers University’s Williams Lake campus.

The event, which will be held in the gym, will include Ervin Charleyboy and Grade 10, 11, and 12 students from Columneetza and Williams Lake secondary schools, as well as nine local business representatives.

Local businesses will present and discuss mentorship and employment opportunities with aboriginal youth.

The First Nations Youth Opportunity Fair is intended to give young aboriginal people a chance to take control of their own futures.

The fair takes place from 10 a.m. to noon.
