Cultivating Gratitude is the theme for the Women’s Spirituality Circle’s third annual gathering coming up this month.

Cultivating Gratitude is the theme for the Women’s Spirituality Circle’s third annual gathering coming up this month.

The gathering will be held at the St. Andrew’s United Church Hall on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event includes sharing circles, workshops and activities including yoga, water colour painting, singing, creating mandalas and labyrinths, smudging, dancing and drumming.

Participants can also learn about Baha’i, Christianity, Messianic Judaism and Yoga traditions.

“We are very excited about our offerings this year,” says event co-ordinator Margaret-Anne Enders. “Many people around town have found this spring to be very hard.  Violence and fear in the community, racism, fires — all these things are a burden to our spirits.

“At the gathering, we will gather with one another and spend the day being nurtured and lifting our spirits with great food, art, music, dancing, and sharing in community.

“The theme this year is gratitude. At times like this, amidst hardships, it is important to remember to be thankful for the blessings that we do have.”

Lunch, snacks, and late afternoon appetizers are provided.

Tickets are available at Kit and Kaboodle and The Hobbit House and must be purchased by May 9.

Regular price tickets are $40; $10 for people experiencing hard times.

Free on-site child minding is available by calling the Women’s Contact Society at 250-392-4118 by May 9.
