Library board games

Starting today and running through until Family Literacy Day on Jan. 27 the public is invited to the Williams Lake Library during opening hours to play board games. “The goal is to have games available on every table in the library for people to play from Jan. 20-27,” says library assistant Tracy Dunlop. “Everyone who plays a game will be entered into our literacy draw to win a prize. “

Simpson speaks at

seniors’ meeting

They Seniors Advisory Council of Williams lake and Area will hold a general meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the Williams Lake Library meeting room. Bob Simpson, MLA for Cariboo North will be the keynote speaker. Simpson will speak on the ombudsperson’s special report on seniors’ residential care in B.C. He will also take questions on other issues concerning seniors. New members and visitors are welcome. Long time members are asked to please attend.

Tuesdays with Morrie

The play Tuesdays with Morrie is coming to the Gibraltar Room in Williams Lake on Jan. 26 for one performance only starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available at the Open Book, Bean Counter and Hospice office at 530 Fourth Avenue North and the door.

Used book sale starts

The Daybreak Rotary Club will host its 20th annual Giant Used Book Sale from Feb. 18 to 26 in the upper level of Boitanio Mall. Donations can be dropped off at collection bins set up at Safeway, Save-on Foods, Canadian Tire, the Boitanio Mall main entrance, and the 150 Mile House Centre.

People can also call for pickup at 250-392-4498. All proceeds will be used to support Rotary and its community projects.
