Community activities resume after Christmas break

Seniors Activity Centre re-opens after Christmas break, auditions coming up, fashion show in the works and more.

The Seniors Activity Centre was closed for the Christmas holidays from Thursday, Dec. 22 to Monday, Jan. 2 and reopened on Tuesday, Jan. 3 with all activities resuming as usual.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 10 Wednesday, Jan. 11

Auditions

The Studio Theatre is holding auditions on Jan. 10 and 11 at Kornak and Hamm’s building starting at 7 p.m. at 366 Yorston Street. The Studio Theatre is looking for two females and two males ages 18 to 35 and one female and one male of any age for the plays Mary’s Wedding and Problem Child that will be on stage in May. Thursday, Jan. 12

Grant writing workshop

Graham Kelsey will present a grant writing workshop on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017  from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Central Cariboo Arts Centre. The workshop will focus on commonly made pitfalls in grant applications and on the Central Cariboo Art Centre Society’s grant application process.

Registration is required by Jan. 8, 2017. Project grants between $300 and $3000 are available for non-profit organizations and community groups in Williams Lake and the Central Cariboo (CRD Areas D, E, and F) to support and develop arts and culture within this region. The deadline for 2017 applications is Jan. 30, 2017 at 4 pm.

Fashion Show

 

The Seniors Activity Centre is holding a Cheesecake and Youth Fashion Show for all ages on Jan. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. The fee is $10 per person. Tickets are available at the activity centre.
